Engaging, mesmerising, hypnotic…
This film moves slowly, which is very difficult to achieve and still keep it interesting at the same time. Yet this film pulls it off superbly. It takes a while for the main plot to unravel, yet when it builds up and unfolds, it leaves you guessing until the end. The slow build up is in no means a negative thing, it works and releases the story and characters perfectly.
The movie was filmed in 1 main location, a gothic style police station. Beautiful set! The camera angles and shots throughout the film were unique. This Director's directorial debut is one to be reckoned with! And an Aussie too, how refreshing!
Weaving and Martin's performances work wonders, and their chemistry is subtle, but correct.
Overall a magnificent film! Very impressed!
