this is for me THE ultimate batman movie. although i wouldnt have cast michael keaton its still a film that holds its own against the other films and incarnations. right from the very first shot of gotham city to jokers death, the scale and grandure that you get is what i envisioned gotham to be. the ambiance and colour scheme scream old world Europe with a hint of new york when it was being developed.

his look encompasses what batman should look like. unlike the later incarnations, his look should instill fear into the common criminal. they fear not a man but a myth. someone who looks like they're in a suit doesnt work.

the only detractions from this is the prince soundtrack, and jokers reveal to be wayne parents killer.

8/10 - outstanding performances from everyone even the comic relief!!
