Fracture - Jo

I watched this on a whim.
It was a good movie if it were a 'midday movie', not anything else. The production values were poor, the story line convoluted, and the overall flow was stagnant.
The movie is about a prosecution lawyer who works at a moderate and humble firm. Due to a lucky situation, he gets accepted into a prestige, high profile law firm, but has one more case to settle in his old firm. Queue Anthony Hopkins. Hopkin's character shoots his wife as she is cheating on him, but she survives and is in a coma. The 'clever' part of the film was meant to be that even though we saw him shoot his wife, he covered all his tracks to get away with it. After a tug-and-war case, he gets acquitted. He then pulls the plug on his wife (who was in a coma). She dies, then the lawyer gets new evidence. Hopkin's character thinks he's so clever as he said that you cannot be trailed for the same crime. (double jeopardy) but the clever lawyer proudly realises that he was first on trial for 'attempted murder' as the wife was still 'technically' alive. So he can now be trialed for 'murder'….
Oh so clever…
The only cool parts was some 'left field' humour that popped in here and there in dialogue.
3.5/10
