the inevitable sequel. to my surprise spielberg also directed this one, which is very dissapointing for me considering how many cliches that this falls into. apparantly the director of the third installment wanted to direct this but spielberg wanted to do this after directing chindlers list. the same crew is back, ILM and stan winston bring back and improve visually on all your favourites and add a bunch of new ones such as the stegosaurus and fryer tuck's.
this really resonated for me cos of 2 reasons. jeff goldbloom and the nifty pull out chair on the jeep in one of the early chase sequences that was deliberately taken from dino riders (a popular 80's toy and cartoon series). Jeff is clearly the star in this sequel armed with all his great sarcastic and impeccably timed jokes.
its a tolerable film but falls flat in the last arc in the movie with the ill famed tyrannosaurus/city sequence that apparently spielberg pushed for. it was originally going to feature a pterodactyl and helicopter sequence that took place on island b.
7/10 - decent film with improved visuals and goldbloom - really annoying female leads
7/10 - again too many damned stills
