what is with all these lame trilogy names...i.e rambo 3...
its really hard to write a plausible script about a bunch of people going back to an island full of monsters. with the second installment you have jeff's character go back to "rescue" his girlfriend when she is lured by the parks founder to see some dinosaurs. with this, you have a slightly more reasonable cause for sam niels character to go back as he's in desperate need for funding but is ultimately deceived when the supposedly wealthy couple reveals they are in search of their son (who some how magically becomes tarzan) after crash landing on the island which makes no continuity sense as with the second film, the island was condemned as another rich couple's daughter had a run in with the beasts.
in any case the story is again tolerable and you have a plausible motive for being on the island, so brings about the dilemma about why this is so sucky as a sequel. sure they have more new creatures to see and theres plenty more action, but what they made a fatal mistake of doing was the introducing very stupid and annoying characters that wont die making it feel more like a cartoon. it really felt like your watching batman forever meets dinosaurs. these beasts are so colourful they lack any credibility. coupled with that and some really bad casting choices, i mean who'd tea leoni suck off to get a job in this industry. her and julianne moore are 2 of the most ugly and worst actors in hollywood but for very different reasons. leoni is a coked up whore who has a very bad speaking voice and moore is a bad version of an 80's woman who thinks shes some ripley knock off.
6/10 - Joe Johnston does a decent job of directing - he did jumanji and hildago
8/10 - hardly any stills in sight - annoying short clips by ILM that has no playall feature
