I watched this movie for the second time ever last night...
It was better than I remembered, and for a Hollywood war movie, it was good.
Great action scenes, props, sets, blood and gore. I think this was one of the first Hollywood movies that showed the real nitty gritty of war, that it's not all heroism and parades. It shows that soldiers die, they question their moralities and that war is brutal, violent and senseless.
The movie would have been a bit better had the actual story line of 'Saving Private Ryan', was more feasible... Yet for it's time it was a turning point in war films, and many films have followed it's lead...
